Vinayalaya is a home
for Mentally
challenged girl
children. It was
started on 02-04-1998
At present there
are 20 girl children
of which 15 are
mentally deficient
children and 5children
are normal. Vinayalaya
admit mentally
challenged children
who are falling into
the educable category.
15 children
are going to school
and they are studying
in different classes.
Older children are
given vocational
training in candle
making, table mat
making etc. Other than that they
are given training in
all self help skills. Many of them
are good in drawing,
painting and all. They
are interested in
various out door games
like running, jumping, and
skipping. They are
interested in playing
indoor games like
caroms and chess. They
are maintaining a
kitchen garden in
which all the work is
done by the children.
Vinayalaya is
managed by the Sisters
of Franciscan Clarist
convent (FCC)
sisters of
Kothamangalam
